Meet Pippi

We are an all-volunteer/foster home-based rescue. Apply to adopt by filling out the online adoption application on our main website dakotadachshundrescue.org Click on Adoption Info under the Navigation bar on the left side of the page. Fill out the form by clicking on the picture of the computer screen with our logo on it.  Pippi came to us from a difficult situation  She loves the other dogs and needs another social dog on the home or someone who will be home with her  She is learning not to guard her food and that we will take care of her  She won't be available for a bit as she was pregnant when she arrived so cannot be spayed fir a bit  She does need a very secure fenced yard  Pippi is about 1 year old and weighs about 8 pounds  Her adoption fee is $600 plus tax of $27 for a total of $627     My adoption fee helps cover all of my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, spay, dental if needed and microchipping.

Adoption Process
Usually we are contacted by a SD shelter about a dachshund that is not doing well (nipping etc.) and that they are going to be put down. We take them in get them vetted and then place them up for adoption after they have been evaluated. We also take calls from folks who have called their local shelter about there dachshund that may have started nipping at small children etc and are told the dog would be put down. We also take calls from other rescues about breeder dogs.
