She continues on her Benazepril and will need to do so in the future. She will need a recheck with her cardiologist in 6 months. Milly update November 25th: Milly was seen at UMN cardiology Oct 27th, her cardiac ultrasound showed her aortic valve is leaking due to the flow of her ventricular septal defect(hole between lower chambers). Her cardiologist started a medication that should help with the amount of leakage however it cannot fix it. Milly goes back to see Dr Paul for weight checks, hoping to put some weight on her and keep her growing. She returns to UMN cardiology in 6-9 months for a recheck. Milly is a happy go lucky puppy ❤️ With continued medication she may live 2-5 yrs. Unfortunately we can not fix the aortic valve however can medically manage her condition.Millie update September 18th: Milly is scheduled to see UMN Cardiology October 27th.Millie update: Millie saw Dr Paul, he heard a heart murmur so we had her heart scanned. Millie has a heart defect that she will need to travel to UMN Cardiology to be seen. Dr Paul did her referral, we do not have a date yet for her to travel to be seen. We need to start fundraising for her care.Hi - Milly here. I am a total 100 percent p u p p y! I love to run and chase and play and cuddle and sleep and eat and potty. That's about it. My name is Milly. I am about 3 months old and weigh about 5 pounds. My adoption fee is $400 plus tax of $18 for a total of $418.
Adoption Process
Usually we are contacted by a SD shelter about a dachshund that is not doing well (nipping etc.) and that they are going to be put down. We take them in get them vetted and then place them up for adoption after they have been evaluated. We also take calls from folks who have called their local shelter about there dachshund that may have started nipping at small children etc and are told the dog would be put down. We also take calls from other rescues about breeder dogs.
