***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** Ok, we know puppies aren't perfect but gosh darn these 4 babies of Momma Sue's are about as close to perfect as they come! Just look at them!!!! We introduce to you Boone (our only lad), Mississippi, Cloie and Maple. These babes were found in a shallow dirt dug out behind a dumpster. It was during an ice storm in the cold Iowa wind that they were discovered. We had known about their mom for months and had been trying to trap her all the while. However, no smelly food or yummy treat could lure her into that trap. So the night these 4 were found as pups only a couple of days old we knew we would get her if she was thinking she was saving her babies! Once we got the little family all settled in Momma and her little brood blossomed. It has been so much fun watching these 4 grow up and develop their own little personality. All 4 of the pups are so sweet! Mississippi is the brave and out going one. Boone is a little more laid back. Maple wants to cuddle and Cloie is goofy and knows she's pretty! All of the pups play together so nicely and with their mom too. Sue is a pure bred Australian shepherd and her pups are a mix but obviously mostly aussie so we expect the behaviors and tendencies of the herding group to be very strong with these kids. Please do your research and educate yourself on this class of dogs. They are not suitable for just any home environment. They will not only require physical stimulation each day but lots of mental stimulation as well. And while they can be wonderful family pets and easy to train, they have a natural tendency to also protect their people and herd family, friends and other animals in the home. Life expectancy is 15 years so be ready to commit to their high energy and work drive for most if not all of those years. The pups were born 12.8.24 and are up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. The will be adopted on a spay/neuter contract. Their adoption fee is 300.00
