Emmet County Animal Shelter

We live in a primarily rural area with a 50% poverty level and 40% non Caucasian/transient population. Due to the farmer mentality or disposable mentality of our area many pets find them selves homeless due to no fault of their own. We take in animals that are neglected, abandon, injured or just unwanted. We rehabilitate them and then re-home them through our adoption process. We have been solely foster based since 2010 and are currently building our new facility. We do it all with volunteers and we do it because we love it! The animals deserve better and we try our best to offer them that by doing what we can, when we can, the best we can, with what we have and with all our heart.

Meet Tinky

***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** Tinky is the name of this sweet and loveable pup!  Tinky is the last of her litter and she really wants to find her family.  Her mom was had her and her siblings on Pineridge reservation August 31st of 2024.  Rescue grabbed the little family and they all came to us. This girl will need a family that is patient, kind and loves to snuggle.  She has some insecurity issues so she will need a family that can bolster her confidence while making sure to always let her know she is safe.  She really likes to cuddle and have lots of human attention.  She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped.  Her adoption fee is $300.00
