Meet Missy

Missy is a 2-year-old, female, possible Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix, weighing about 19 pounds. She was surrendered by her owner in Oklahoma and recently found herself in Iowa surrounded by love and lots of foster siblings to play with! Missy is like a southern whirlwind wrapped up in a small package -always on the move and blown about on a breeze of mischief! She wants to be the center of every activity and believes it is her right to choose the companion and the game.  Currently she adores wrestling and chasing around with the foster siblings  in her foster home.  If foster mom is trying to work on her phone she will have none of that and will nose her way into her foster mom's attention with a twinkle in her eye.  If foster mom is trying to sort laundry she thinks it the height of hilarity to burrow under the clothes and take off with a sock or two for a game of chase. She has discovered the joys of playing fetch and is always looking for a partner! When Missy is done playing she adores lying next to her human for a quick nap or to watch her favorite TV shows. At a recent adoption event Missy was the star of the show, greeting everyone with a quick nuzzle and a wag of the tail. She did exceptionally well at the event, getting along with the other dogs and minding her manners quite nicely. She currently likes to sleep in bed all night with foster mom but is respectful of her space. Missy is 100% potty trained, crate trained, is very smart and food motivated so would be easy to teach other skills.  She loves to ride in the car (she calls shotgun!) and does very well on the leash. If you're looking for a companion interested in go, go, going anywhere, anytime then Missy might be your new best friend. If you are interested in this dog, please complete an online application at https://hopeanimalrescueofiowa.duplie.com/forms/196/dog-application Adoption fee is $250 which includes spay/neuter, microchip, and age appropriate vaccinations.
