Wiley is a fun loving energetic 6-7 month old husky shepherd mix that came from the local animal shelter that was overflowing and reached out to the rescue for help. While we don’t know his back story we are having a hard time figuring out why anyone would give him up, just look at those ears! He loves to play with other dogs and loves to be around his people, too. Wiley is currently in a foster home with 2 other dogs and would likely do best with a dog sibling that loves to play as much as he does. He loves to chew on chew toys and loves his food. Wiley knows sit and is working on sitting and waiting for his dinner but he just can’t resist himself. Wiley is kennel and potty trained. He does well with other playful dogs and has done well around children, but he has not been introduced to cats. Wiley does well on a leash with a harness and would probably love going on runs to get out some of that puppy energy. Wiley's adoption fee is $300 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccines and monthly preventatives plus a FREE basic training class at Cedar Run Company #2 in Hiawatha. Wiley is seeking a home as an indoor dog only, if you would like to meet him we ask that you please submit an adoption application through our website. Last Hope requires that adopters have a history of having kept any other animals altered, as indoor pets only and kept current on vaccines and preventatives. Our adoption process includes a vet history check and a home visit.
Adoption Process
Prior to adoption, all of our dogs have been tested for heartworm, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and spayed or neutered, if age appropriate. Our adoption process includes reference and background checks, a vet check and home visit.
The adoption fee for dogs and puppies varies.
Prior to adoption, our cats have been tested for feline leukemia, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and spayed or neutered, if age appropriate. If at the time of adoption, the kitten is too young to be spayed or neutered, an agreed upon time frame will be set for when this procedure is to be done. Spaying or neutering is not an optional procedure, it is required of all animals we rescue.
The adoption fee for cats and kittens varies.
