Miss Palmer is a petite little 2-3 yr old Bluetick mix weighing a mere 40 lbs. She is kennel trained and doesn't potty in the house, but is still working on keeping her kennel dry overnight. She will need a fenced in yard, as her hound dog nose carries her in every direction. As with most hounds, she is a counter surfer, but what a maid service she can perform in your kitchen for you! :) Palmer is a very mellow hound who seldom barks or bays, but will occasionally "WOOWOOO!" when she wants something. She can be a little timid meeting new people but quickly warms up. So far, she hasn't met a dog that she doesn't like. We can't say for certain how she is with cats. Palmer is a low/medium energy dog, and is just as happy to nap all day as she is to explore. Her hobbies include napping, sniffing and sniffing some more. If you would like to meet Palmer, please submit an adoption application through our website, Adopthope.org Palmer's adoption fee is $250 and includes her spay, microchip, current vaccines and heartworm testing plus a free basic training course at Cedar Run Company in Hiawatha. Palmer is seeking an indoor only home, we do require that applicants have a history of having kept any former/current pets; altered current on vaccines and preventatives and as indoor pets only. Our adoption process includes a vet history check and a home visit.
Adoption Process
Prior to adoption, all of our dogs have been tested for heartworm, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and spayed or neutered, if age appropriate. Our adoption process includes reference and background checks, a vet check and home visit.
The adoption fee for dogs and puppies varies.
Prior to adoption, our cats have been tested for feline leukemia, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and spayed or neutered, if age appropriate. If at the time of adoption, the kitten is too young to be spayed or neutered, an agreed upon time frame will be set for when this procedure is to be done. Spaying or neutering is not an optional procedure, it is required of all animals we rescue.
The adoption fee for cats and kittens varies.
