Meet Gordy

***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** This is Gordon or Gordy or Goofy Guy!  He has kind of a long story but the short of it is that he once had a family, then he didn't and now at 7 years old he needs a new one.  Gordon is believed to be a Powder Puff Chinese Crested.  And we know some of ya'll out there are not going to think he's very cute but we promise he will grow on you!  For those of you that look at his little face and his goofy hair style and just think awe.....he's just soooo cute, you're who we want to talk to!  Gordon didn't have a great life and that shows. He had horrible teeth and just recently had a dental where he had 14 teeth pulled!  He also has a small hole in the roof of his mouth.  It doesn't seem to be bothering him and the vets say its been like that for quite some time.  He also had a really bad ear infection which he is being treated for currently.  Gordon may or may not be potty trained but since he came from a warmer climate and its just really freaking cold in Iowa right now we are giving him the benefit of the doubt that he will do better when it warms up.  This little guy has had a lot of things go on in a short amount of time and normally we wouldn't even post him for adoption but in his case we think we know what he wants in a home already and we would like to help him move on to that as soon as possible.  Gordon needs a home that doesn't have a lot of chaos.  He's ok with the other cats and dogs but would thrive in a calm environment where most of the attention was on him.  He is maybe particular about his people.  He is tolerant of everyone but seems to be really drawn to older women.  He can get persnikitty so a seasoned small dog owner is a must.  No small kids as that would be overwhelming and potentially dangerous for this little fella.  He loves to curl up in your lap and be petted and he loves having his side scratched.  It makes his little legs go and you can tell its just a wonderful feeling for him.  If he feels safe and he likes you he does a little spinning dance and wants you to 'get him' which he this is just a super fun game!  Gordon is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and microchipped.  His adoption fee is $275.00

Adoption Process
application, adoption fees for dogs/puppies start at $150-$300. Cats/kittens are free will offering adoptions. Contracts for adoptions must be signed. All animals (unless too young) are altered prior to adoption. If not altered a deposit is paid and given back plus a rebate after the alteration has been performed.
