Emmet County Animal Shelter

We live in a primarily rural area with a 50% poverty level and 40% non Caucasian/transient population. Due to the farmer mentality or disposable mentality of our area many pets find them selves homeless due to no fault of their own. We take in animals that are neglected, abandon, injured or just unwanted. We rehabilitate them and then re-home them through our adoption process. We have been solely foster based since 2010 and are currently building our new facility. We do it all with volunteers and we do it because we love it! The animals deserve better and we try our best to offer them that by doing what we can, when we can, the best we can, with what we have and with all our heart.

Meet Aldo

Meet our handsome young German Shepherd mix, a sweet and playful pup who’s just under a year old and weighs around 50 lbs. Despite his rough start—he was sadly dumped and left to fend for himself—this incredible dog has kept his gentle and innocent demeanor. He’s a fast learner and keeps his kennel and space spotless, showing he’s well on his way to being a perfect companion. While he’s got the basics down, he’ll thrive with a family who can provide the training and authority he needs to grow into a well-mannered adult.  He’s full of energy and would love an active family to join him in all kinds of adventures. He gets along well with other dogs and would do best with respectful children who understand the needs of a young dog. If you’re looking for a loyal friend to share your life with, this sweet boy is ready to find his forever home! Aldo is up-to-date on vaccines, neutered, dewormed, and micro chipped with an approved application Aldos adoption fee is $300

Adoption Process
