Emmet County Animal Shelter

We live in a primarily rural area with a 50% poverty level and 40% non Caucasian/transient population. Due to the farmer mentality or disposable mentality of our area many pets find them selves homeless due to no fault of their own. We take in animals that are neglected, abandon, injured or just unwanted. We rehabilitate them and then re-home them through our adoption process. We have been solely foster based since 2010 and are currently building our new facility. We do it all with volunteers and we do it because we love it! The animals deserve better and we try our best to offer them that by doing what we can, when we can, the best we can, with what we have and with all our heart.

Meet Roman Candle

Roman Candle and his siblings  were born on the Fourth of July, which is fitting because these are the only fireworks you need to celebrate with!  Roman candle is the biggest puppy, and he is the most laid back and calmer than the rest. Flare wants all the attention and will do whatever it takes to get it, even if it means pushing over his siblings!  Bottle Rocket is a very confident puppy. Cherry Bomb can be naughty, but she's typically very sweet. Firecracker is our smallest puppy, and he's oh so sweet. He hangs back, often to see if he is also able to get some lovings once everything has calmed down and everyone else has had their turn. Popper, Bombette, and Sparkler are typical puppies, little bit of sweet and a little bit of naughty.  Roman Candle  is microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and dewormed. If he is not neutered by the time he is adopted, he will be on a spay/neuter contract. With an approved application, his adoption fee is $300. ****The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org****

Adoption Process
