Emmet County Animal Shelter

We live in a primarily rural area with a 50% poverty level and 40% non Caucasian/transient population. Due to the farmer mentality or disposable mentality of our area many pets find them selves homeless due to no fault of their own. We take in animals that are neglected, abandon, injured or just unwanted. We rehabilitate them and then re-home them through our adoption process. We have been solely foster based since 2010 and are currently building our new facility. We do it all with volunteers and we do it because we love it! The animals deserve better and we try our best to offer them that by doing what we can, when we can, the best we can, with what we have and with all our heart.

Meet Sam

Spunky Sam is about a year old and came to us after being bounced around from home to home. Due to no fault of his own, because quite frankly he is down right perfect!! He currently lives in a foster home with resident cats, dogs, and children. It will be a requirement that Sam finds a forever home with another friendly dog/s as he thrives with dog companionship and loves to have other dogs to play and nap with! He doesn’t seem to pay much attention to the cats in his foster home and is pretty respectful of their space. Sam does fabulously with all humans and even children! Sam would make a great family dog and adventure buddy. He loves going on car rides, very polite at taking treats, and doing well with basic training commands. This sweet and happy boy is so deserving and ready to experience the good life! Sam is potty trained and crate trained and ready for his forever family to find him! Could that be you!?    Sam is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and dewormed. With an approved application his adoption fee is $275.00

Adoption Process
application, adoption fees for dogs/puppies start at $150-$300. Cats/kittens are free will offering adoptions. Contracts for adoptions must be signed. All animals (unless too young) are altered prior to adoption. If not altered a deposit is paid and given back plus a rebate after the alteration has been performed.
