Dakota Dachshund Rescue

Diane started doing fostering at the Sioux Falls Humane Society and then Pet Pals for Life. She had a passion for dachshunds. We noticed that the Sioux Falls area had a need for a dachshund rescue so her and I (Doug) started DDR. The response and need was much greater than we anticipated.

All that extra weight on my legs was a bad thing. I am getting lots of exercise and working on losing even more. Hi! I'm Annie. I came to Dakota Dachshund Rescue as my mom couldn't keep me anymore. I have some medical issues that need to be resolved as well as I need to lose a significant amount of weight so I need some Sponsorship Angels to help pay my vetting bills while I get back on track. Can you help me out as a sponsor?  I am 3 yrs old, I currently weigh 11 lbs but am working my way down to around 7 pounds, my adoption fee will be $350 plus sales tax $15.75=$365.75 My adoption fee helps cover all of my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, spay, dental  and microchipping.

Adoption Process
Usually we are contacted by a SD shelter about a dachshund that is not doing well (nipping etc.) and that they are going to be put down. We take them in get them vetted and then place them up for adoption after they have been evaluated. We also take calls from folks who have called their local shelter about there dachshund that may have started nipping at small children etc and are told the dog would be put down. We also take calls from other rescues about breeder dogs.
