Update: George (Gumba ) is having some issues with his neck, Dr Paul has him on kennel rest as well as pain meds. Poor little guy, years and years of living outside is hard on joints and the body overall :( George is on kennel rest, is on pain meds and we have started him on glucosamine chondroitin to help rebuild synovial fluid in his joints. Keep George (our little Gumba) in your prayers for healing and overall well being. Now that he has a warm loving foster home, much need medical care, sleeps in a dog bed in a cozy home, has consistent good food .....we just want him to heal so he can become someone's furry friend and be loved for the rest of his life. Can you be an angel and help sponsor George(Gumba) while he heals?Gumba aka George had a rough start to life. His family did not really consider hompart of the family. He spent his life as an outside dog. Even with the life he had he is still the sweetest boy. We will find him a real family that will make sure he is part of the family. Is that you? He definitely needs a fenced yard to keep him safe. He does great with the other pups. Gumba is about 9 years old and weighs about 12 pounds. His adoption fee is $250 plus tax of $11.25 for a total of $261.25. My adoption fee helps cover all of my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, neuter, dental and microchipping.
Adoption Process
Usually we are contacted by a SD shelter about a dachshund that is not doing well (nipping etc.) and that they are going to be put down. We take them in get them vetted and then place them up for adoption after they have been evaluated. We also take calls from folks who have called their local shelter about there dachshund that may have started nipping at small children etc and are told the dog would be put down. We also take calls from other rescues about breeder dogs.
