Skeeter

Emmet County Animal Shelter

We live in a primarily rural area with a 50% poverty level and 40% non Caucasian/transient population. Due to the farmer mentality or disposable mentality of our area many pets find them selves homeless due to no fault of their own. We take in animals that are neglected, abandon, injured or just unwanted. We rehabilitate them and then re-home them through our adoption process. We have been solely foster based since 2010 and are currently building our new facility. We do it all with volunteers and we do it because we love it! The animals deserve better and we try our best to offer them that by doing what we can, when we can, the best we can, with what we have and with all our heart.

Meet Skeeter

***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org** Meet Skeeter!  This sweet boy is looking for a forever home he can call his own.  Skeeter is approximately 10 months old. He is a very gentle and loving pup that truly just wants someone to give him snuggles.  He gets along with other dogs and seems to be pretty calm in nature.  He has been on walks with our dog walkers and does a wonderful job.  He keeps his kennel clean and plays nicely with his toys.  Skeeter would do well in a home with gentle children as he seems to be a sensitive guy and rambunctious kids might be overwhelming for him.  We have walked him through the lobby with the cats and while he was interested in them he was not overly excited so a home with dog savvy cats might be just fine for him as well.  Skeeter is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped.  His adoption fee is $300.00

Adoption Process
application, adoption fees for dogs/puppies start at $150-$300. Cats/kittens are free will offering adoptions. Contracts for adoptions must be signed. All animals (unless too young) are altered prior to adoption. If not altered a deposit is paid and given back plus a rebate after the alteration has been performed.
