Meet Remi

Remi is a 9.5-month-old, male, 8 lb., miniature Poodle. He was surrendered to Hope on April 7 by his owner. Remi was put in the care of a friend and was quite injured while there. He ended up with bite wounds to his muzzle and a severely broken left rear leg that had to be amputated on March 22. Remi has recovered from his wounds but is still growing the fur back on his muzzle, front leg where the IV was inserted for his surgery, and back leg area. Despite his trauma, Remi is a sweet boy that is very people oriented. He has adjusted to losing his leg very quickly and has started learning how to jump up onto furniture. He does have access to stairs to help him get on the couch. He loves the one-year-old baby living in his foster home. He gets along well with the other dogs in the home as well but has not shown a lot of interest in them as far as playing. He just got comfortable enough to start chewing on bones and doing the zoomies on occasion. Remi would love a home where he can be the center of attention and have a lap to snuggle on. He has not been kenneled while in his foster home since someone is usually home all day. Remi will need a bit of work on house training, but he does pretty well when on a schedule.  If you are interested in meeting Remi, please complete an online application at https://hopeanimalrescueofiowa.duplie.com/forms/196/dog-application Adoption fee is $300.00 which includes spay/neuter, microchip, and age-appropriate vaccines/cares
