Meet Ebony

Ebony is a 7 month old (dob 06/30/24), 42 lb., female German Doodle (German Shepherd/Golden Doodle mix). Her daddy is a purebred German Shepherd and her mama is a mini Golden Doodle. She is a local owner surrender that came into rescue on January 26. When she first entered her foster home, she was really scared of the three other dogs already living there, but she has made wonderful progress integrating into the pack. She wrestles and plays non-stop with them now. They snuggle and like to sleep together as well. She really likes the teenage boys she lives with in her foster home. She loves laying with them when they are watching movies and playing fetch. She really likes it when they chase her around like hide and seek. Ebony has no experience with younger kids in her foster home but was said to have been around them in her previous home. Due to her timid nature, children over the age of 10 would be best fit. Ebony came into rescue very under socialized. Due to this, fast and sudden movements scare her and it takes her time to warm up to new people and animals. She is obsessed with her foster Mama. She has bonded deeply with her and looks to her for direction and comfort. She sleeps in her bed at night. She is not a fan of the kennel so she is allowed to free roam in the house when her foster family is gone. So far she hasn't been destructive or had any potty accidents. Her foster mama has been working on leash training and she is making some progress with feeling comfortable with it. Ebony has trouble keeping her paws on the ground when she wants attention or gets excited. Her foster mama is working with her on that as well. Ebony is a beautiful, sweet girl looking for a patient family that can work on socializing her and opening the world up to her so she can reach her full potential Sibling: Tina (F) If you are interested in meeting Ebony, please complete an online application at  https://hopeanimalrescueofiowa.duplie.com/forms/196/dog-application Adoption fee is $300 which includes spay/neuter, microchip, and age appropriate vaccines.
