Meet Mollie

Mollie is a 25lb Border Collie/Coonhound mix that is a year and a half old, house and crate trained and loves to lay on or next to you in the evening. She will be your shadow when making supper or cleaning house but true to her breed mix, she needs lots of mental stimulation as well as exercise. A daily walk or two will not be enough for Mollie. Her ideal home would be one with a large yard to run and explore plus a family willing to be outside with her on restroom breaks to throw a ball or frisbee. She is very intelligent and treat motivated so training has greatly improved in her foster home ans with a dog trainer. Her playful nature would do best in a home with another dog. She is crate trained and house trained but has a separation anxiety that will need to be monitored. Mollie did not have good experiences with young children prior to coming into rescue and due to this she becomes reactive . She must have a home with only older children that can go slow with her until she is comfortable. Due to her breed mix she would likely want to chase cats and she currently chases squirrels in the yard. Mollie sleeps on a dog bed next to her humans at night (not kenneled) but she would love to be able to sleep in bed with a family member. If you are interested in meeting molly, please complete an application. https://hopeanimalrescueofiowa.duplie.com/forms/196/dog-application   Adoption fee is $250 which includes spay/neuter, microchip, and age appropriate vaccines.
