Emmet County Animal Shelter

We live in a primarily rural area with a 50% poverty level and 40% non Caucasian/transient population. Due to the farmer mentality or disposable mentality of our area many pets find them selves homeless due to no fault of their own. We take in animals that are neglected, abandon, injured or just unwanted. We rehabilitate them and then re-home them through our adoption process. We have been solely foster based since 2010 and are currently building our new facility. We do it all with volunteers and we do it because we love it! The animals deserve better and we try our best to offer them that by doing what we can, when we can, the best we can, with what we have and with all our heart.

Meet Calli

***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** Momma Calli is ready to leave the motherhood life behind and go to a new home to be someone's baby!  Calli was living life on the streets of Pineridge reservation and trying to keep her pups safe and warm.  After the crew came to ECAS they were all safe, warm and fed.  Calli's pups are up for adoption and each looking for a home and so is she.  We estimate that she is just over a year old and will be about 55-60 pounds when she is all filled out.  From the moment she arrived she was smiling and excited to see all the humans because they give the pets!!!  Calli is energetic, playful and very eager to receive attention.  She is quite well behaved and listens well.  We have not had her with any of the dogs as we typically don't intro momma dogs while they have pups around however she seems friendly and eager to play.  We can cat test her should an applicant have feline friends as well. Calli is scheduled to be spayed this week.  She is up to date on vaccinations and microchipped.  Her adoption fee is $275.00

Adoption Process
application, adoption fees for dogs/puppies start at $150-$300. Cats/kittens are free will offering adoptions. Contracts for adoptions must be signed. All animals (unless too young) are altered prior to adoption. If not altered a deposit is paid and given back plus a rebate after the alteration has been performed.
