We are bonded one and a half year old brothers. We stick together and look for each other when we are out in our foster mom's fenced yard.We do scope out the fencing to see if we can get past the fence to explore ...my foster mom says it's a good thing we can't get past the fence.Charlie is easily led around by keeping a hold of Luca. A fenced yard is a must because they do like to sedately wander and explore. The boys chill a lot in the open kennel together. Both handle being kenneled all night, rarely barking at this point but everything is still new. They can be kenneled together or separately, doesn't seem to bother them either way. When outside, Charlie likes to be close to his human but prefers to be behind and will nose touch me often but Luca likes to be just out of reach. Once you have a hold of them they enjoy being petted but at this point they aren't clingy or begging for attention. Each boys adoption fee is $600 plus sales so for Charlie and Luca's adoption fee it's $1,200 plus sales tax $54=$1,254.00 My adoption fee helps cover all of my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, neuter, dental if needed and microchipping.
Adoption Process
Usually we are contacted by a SD shelter about a dachshund that is not doing well (nipping etc.) and that they are going to be put down. We take them in get them vetted and then place them up for adoption after they have been evaluated. We also take calls from folks who have called their local shelter about there dachshund that may have started nipping at small children etc and are told the dog would be put down. We also take calls from other rescues about breeder dogs.
