Meet Benji

We are an all-volunteer/foster home-based rescue. Apply to adopt by filling out the online adoption application on our main website dakotadachshundrescue.org Click on Adoption Info under the Navigation bar on the left side of the page. Fill out the form by clicking on the picture of the computer screen with our logo on it. Benji is a playful and vocal little guy with all the right moves! He will spring into action if a door swings open. I say spring since he can sprint like the best them. He is a doordasher and is very fast so a fenced yard is a must for this guy. He needs someone that can walk him on a regular basis and play in the fenced yard with him  He is house trained, decent recall to his name as well. This little man has a lot to offer! Good my other dogs, older kids from the neighborhood.  Even though he runs fast, again watch those outside doors, car rides are very stressful for him.  Loves to snuggle and will sleep in bed with you. He is 9 yrs young and he’s got a great personality to share!   Can you be that furever home for Benji?Benji is 9 years young, very very active, he weighs 15 pounds, his adoption fee is $250 plus sales tax $11.25= $261.25 My adoption fee helps cover all of my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, neuter, dental and microchipping.

Adoption Process
Usually we are contacted by a SD shelter about a dachshund that is not doing well (nipping etc.) and that they are going to be put down. We take them in get them vetted and then place them up for adoption after they have been evaluated. We also take calls from folks who have called their local shelter about there dachshund that may have started nipping at small children etc and are told the dog would be put down. We also take calls from other rescues about breeder dogs.
