Meet Morgan

Morgan is an approximate 5-year-old, male, possible Norwich Terrier mix. He weighs about 28 pounds, but could stand to lose a few more! He came from Oklahoma where he has been in a foster home since April, 2024 to get him healthy, help him lose some weight and to be treated for heartworm disease.  He went through treatment and is now testing negative for heartworms and has lost about 12 pounds!  Good job Morgan! His pictures don't do him justice; in person he looks like a cream colored teddy bear with the brown button eyes and nose to prove it.  He is a such a sweet boy who generally loves people. He connects easily with humans and really only wants to be with/near you. He does like to rumble and grumble a bit, especially at breakfast & suppertime.  Foster mom doesn't think he was inside much in his previous life as he has not yet taken to sitting on furniture or sleeping in bed with humans.  He's happy for a spot on a rug or dog bed with a nice nyla-bone to chew on.  He is completely house-trained, trusted to free reign in the home and is generally a very happy boy! He has had a few issues with larger dogs in his foster home here in Iowa.  He follows them around and most often, they get a bit unnerved by his constant attention.  A few dust ups have occurred requiring human intervention but no blood has been drawn.  He would likely do best in a home with small to small-medium sized dogs.  He has not been around children or cats to our knowledge so would need introductions to smaller children or cats to see how it goes during a home visit.  If you're looking for a gentle companion who isn't a velco-type dog, Mo might be the man of your dreams! If you are interested in meeting Morgan, please complete an online application at https://hopeanimalrescueofiowa.duplie.com/forms/196/dog-application Adoption fee is $250 which includes spay/neuter, microchip, and age appropriate vaccines.
