Meet Penny

Penny is a 2-year-old, 22 lb., female, Pug mix. Penny and her puppies were taken in by a rescue in Oklahoma after being left in a dumpster. She was malnourished and in need of veterinary care. Despite being treated like trash, Penny loves people, kids included. She is the perfect companion dog!  She is what we in the puppy care business like to call a Velcro dog. She will be constantly by your side or on your lap. If you leave the house (or even the room), she will miss you. Penny loves being the center of attention. She gets along with other dogs but won't stand being second fiddle. This would make her a very good single dog for a family. Penny prefers humans over other dogs that she has to compete with for all of the attention. She has not had any exposure to cats. Penny loves playing with toys and will fetch. She has a lot of energy so she would do best in a home in which she can be given the time and attention that she needs and where play time and walks are part of her daily routine. Penny is mostly house trained but still having the occasional accident. She is leash trained and can sit on command. Penny does not love being kenneled because she knows that means you are leaving and she would much rather you take her with you. Puppies: Cornelius (M) & Barnaby (M) If you are interested in meeting Penny, please complete an online application at  https://hopeanimalrescueofiowa.duplie.com/forms/196/dog-application Adoption fee is $250 which includes spay/neuter, microchip, and age appropriate vaccines.
