This young lady is just full of love and zest for life, and has never met a stranger...she greets everyone she meets like they are a long lost friend! Marigold was originally a stray puppy brought into the Cedar Rapids animal shelter back in September. After being overlooked there, and the shelter experiencing a large influx of dogs coming in, Marigold was transferred to Safe Haven on November 3rd because we found ourselves with space to help a neighboring shelter in need. It didn't take long after meeting Marigold, before knowing we wanted to welcome her into Safe Haven because she just has that magnetic personality that draws you in with such a great smile! Marigold is estimated to be around 9 months old now, so she does have that typical 'puppy energy' that she just needs help harnessing and learning how to mature into that great dog we can already see her becoming. While Marigold has mastered the "sit" command, it would be great if her adoptive family had time to commit to an obedience class to help build a nice strong connection with Marigold and help guide her learning how to properly greet new friends and enjoy a nice loose leash walk, etc. As we get to know Marigold more we will be introducing her to other dogs and cats and see what type of home she will be most comfortable in.
