Matilda aka Tilly is an approximate 5.5-month-old, female, 25 lb., Shepherd mix. She is a local owner surrender. Tilly's life started out rough when she was taken in by some young people that had no idea how to care for a puppy. She was malnourished and kenneled most of the time before she was abandoned with another family. Matilda (Tilly) has been in a foster home since March 19, 2025. When first coming into our care, Tilly was a shy, timid, under socialized puppy. She had to learn how to trust and how to interact with other dogs without being possessive. This girl has made huge progress! She is house trained, leash trained, and kennel trained. She is well socialized with other dogs and cats. This girl is as sweet as they come! She has no direct experience with kids, but with proper introductions and good experiences she will likely do well with kids. Tilly would prefer another dog in the home as a companion. She has her basic commands down and is easily trained. If you are interested in meeting Matilda, please complete an online application at https://hopeanimalrescueofiowa.duplie.com/forms/196/dog-application Adoption fee is $300.00 which includes spay/neuter, microchip, and age-appropriate vaccines/cares.
