This 5 month old, shepherd mix is the perfect playful couch potato. Overall calm demeanor, and is the ultimate velcro dog. She loves all people, adults and children. Great with dogs! Smart girl, who’s food motivated and easy to train. She loves to just hang out on the couch, chill in her crate, while taking a few breaks from snuggling, to play. She does great on a leash, loves to go on walks, has been doing phenomenal with potty training, is crate trained—sleeps all night long without a peep or accident. Navy would make a great addition to any home, as she doesn’t know a stranger and adapts quickly!
Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
