Meet Alexis

ALEXIS is equal parts fun and affection. She's a lovely 4 year old 35 lb. mixed breed girl with a streak of silliness. She LOOKS like a Meagle -- a miniature Pinscher/beagle mix. She's probably has a few other breeds mixed in, but we definitely see something from the Pinscher category (Min Pin, German, Doberman) and something from the beagle/hound category. She a medium-energy girl who loves attention, treats and rolling in the grass. We have photos of her belly from every angle because she was too busy rolling around to pose for pictures. She has a bob tail and her coat is soft and beagle-like. She's good with people of all ages and other dogs, walks well on a leash and just has a lovely, even-tempered disposition. If you'd like to meet Alexis, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We can schedule a private meet for Alexis with an approved adopter, or you can meet her  Saturday noon-2 at our weekly adoption event at PetSmart Eastgate if she's still available. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care.

Adoption Process
We offer Foster To Adopt for dogs adoptions. You must complete the application, be approved and pay a $100 deposit ($150 puppies). You can then take the dog home for a trial visit of up to one week This will help you determine if you and the dog are the right match. If yes, then you can finalize the adoption. If no, then you return the dog to us and you are welcome to try a different dog. complete the necessary paperwork and pay a $100 deposit for adult dogs and $150 for puppies (cash, check or credit card). This fee is non-refundable, and will be applied to the adoption fee if you decide to finalize the adoption. The adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter surgery, parvo/distemper shots and rabies shots (for dogs over 6 months), deworming, microchipping, flea and tick protection, heartworm testing (for dogs over 6 months), and monthly heartworm protection until the dog gets adopted.
