Hola, my name is Tortilla, I'm a 11 week old Dachshund mix and ready to Cha Cha! I am a bubbly, short, gluten free, fluffy, butterball, only 6 pounds, so you won't need a lot of bread to keep me fed! I love playing with people, my cousins and my other dog friends. I may be short but don't count me out! My favorite to play with is my English Mastiff friend who is 180 pounds! No dog is too big or too small, I can hold my own with them all! I want to do agility when I grow up because I'm the fastest thing on 4 legs! My favorite things are cuddles, belly rubs, giving kisses, comfy dog beds, burrowing under fleece blankets, cheese, peanutbutter and stuffed toys. I would love to be a part of your Familia! Are you looking for a Salsa partner?
Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
