Pics and Bio for Mocha: Meet Mocha, a 6 month old doodle pup full of life and smiles. Mocha is an absolute sweetheart who is ALL puppy. She has the most beautiful hazel eyes and absolutely loves being in a house with dogs. She wants to play nonstop and is warming up to these things called naps. Now that it’s nice out, she enjoys basking in the sunshine and running her little heart out. She’s working on her manners, potty training (which she communicates with either a gentle nibble on the hand or ringing the bell at the door) and how the tricky leash works. Mocha would do well in a household with older children and puppy patient pups. She so desperately wants to be included, cuddled and loved unconditionally.
Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
