Meet Francesca

Francesca News Bulletin:  Fran has really come out of her shell and is much more at ease around other people while still playing 'hard to get'..  She exhibits a new eagerness when invited to take a walk or when she presents herself for pets and affection.  Her new friendly disposition is evidence that Fran has begun to put her unhappy days behind her and she has found that interacting with her people friends can be fun again.  It has truly been a pleasure to watch this transformation and no doubt her new forever family will continue to benefit from her blossoming this spring.  Francesca is a spirited and intelligent beagle female about seven years old and weighs 23 pounds.  She is very respectful of her surroundings and responds positively to commands.  She is highly trainable.  Fran readily accepts affection and  reacts well to praise and encouragement.  Snuggling with her favorite people and some quiet time is a treat for this little girl.  From our experience, she is potty trained but must be listened to when she indicates that she needs to go outside.  She enjoys a warm bubble bath without a fuss.   She walks well on a leash and is easy to handle yet she still has that Beagle urge for adventure and finds the base of a squirrel tree  or deer crossing most interesting.  She does seem uninterested in cats and shows no provocation to our barn felines.  She gets along well with our other dogs and only barks to alert about something different like a visitor.   She values her own 'room', a well appointed crate in our room, and she sleeps contentedly, not stirring, all through the night while keeping her room clean.  She has been eating well and her health seems very normal although she could gain a couple pounds having been at a kennel for some time.  Fran enjoys her Rachel Ray Nutrish or Beneful dry food mixed with a third of a can or tray of wet food, Purina One or Beneful.  A few snacks in the morning are appreciated after potty duties.   Fran has been a most welcome foster who acts like she was neglected and abused.  She came around to me in less than a few hours and has become very attached after only a couple days.  Her new forever home person should expect the same rewards that I enjoyed.   Foster Don
