Looking for love? You’ve found your Valentine! Meet Punkin! She’s a 1 year old puppy that has so much love to give. She’s 45 lbs but is a little compact cutie. Punkin is shy at first but once she trusts you she will be your best friend. Mostly potty trained, a little scared of her crate but she’s eager to be a good girl for you! She seems to have never been taught how to be a dog, so even playing with toys is new for her! She loves her squeaky stuffies, and carries them around rather than tears them up. Punkin is also great with cats, although a little scared of dogs depending how they act around her. I think she would prefer to have the right friend around to show her the ropes! Apply for Punkin today!
Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
