Hi, my name is Grub! I love to play outside in the yard with my littermates. I'm not afraid to get down and dirty playing tag with my sisters or wrestling with my brothers. Some of my favorite things are: cheese, cookies, peanut butter, naps, playing with squeaky toys and cuddling with people. My momma is a small Boston Terrier mix but daddy was a bigger boy, like maybe a Bull Terrier or something? I'm 10 weeks old and at 11 pounds, already half the size of my momma! I'm crate trained and I sleep in my crate all night! I am working on house training and some basic obedience. I'm doing pretty good for just being a baby! I'm looking for a safe place to grow and be my best self.
Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
