Shelter Animals Rescue Group

Our organization is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit, formed in 1996 to help save adoptable dogs and cats from euthanization at the Oak Ridge Animal Shelter. We specialize in mixed breeds. Our shelter is often filled with very adoptable animals that must die because of space limitations, and we are devoted to giving a second chance to as many as we can. We house our animals in foster homes or boarding kennels for as long as it takes to find them permanent homes. We participate in numerous community events to promote our animals and the concept of adoption/rescue.

Meet Amor

Amor will soon be 12 weeks old – and looking for his forever home. He has been neutered, microchipped, dewormed and current on his vaccinations. He now is on a schedule that works very well for him and for his foster mom. He is still very young, but is sleeping in his carrier through the night. She still gets up once during the night for a 15-minute pee, poo and a bit of food and then right back to bed; he’s always been quiet and good with that. He has been using puppy pads due to his age and the current weather conditions. He knows to use them;  he poos about 95% of the time and pees about 75% of the time on the puppy pads. He is a very inquisitive boy about all new things he may encounter throughout the day. Currently he has learned to fetch balls and other of his toys and bring them back to you – so you can toss it out again. If this sounds like the kind of puppy you’d love in your home, please fill out an application at: shelteranimalsrescue.org/adopt. This will start the process – no commitment - and we can talk more.
