Grainger County Humane Society

The Grainger County Humane Society receives NO funding from our local government or other outside sources. The humane society exists on donations from private individuals and businesses, and volunteer effort. We DO NOT have an animal shelter or an Animal Control Officer at this time. All work is done by volunteers. A Spay/Neuter Clinic is our immediate goal. A Shelter/Adoption Facility and an Animal Control officer are part of our long term goals.

Meet Lexie

Lexie is the last puppy left from the litter of 12 that were dumped in the tote at a church in July. She is roughly 18 weeks old and estimated to get to 60-70 lbs. full grown. This girl has truly blossomed at her foster home. She sleeps through the night in her kennel, doing great with potty training, highly food motivated and great with dogs, cat and children. She’s fully vaccinated and spayed, just waiting on her forever family.

Adoption Process
Adopters must fill out an Adoption Contract, animals are spayed/neutered and current on applicable vaccinations. Adoption fee is $100.00
