NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NEW INTAKE 12/20/2024: Mudbug - male - approx DOB 10/25/2024 - 2.2 pounds at intake - Shih Tzu Reason for intake: We were contacted by a rescue friend who was contacted by a breeder that they had a puppy with an upper abdominal hernia that needed help. We took him in. It doesn't appear to be an umbilical hernia. It's too high on his abdomen but our vet will be able to determine. He's too young and small for surgery, though, so he'll be with us for a bit. We'll post updates on our Facebook page as we get them. NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption. Adoption Process
On-line adoption application required. If approved and at adoption we require adoption agreement, spay/neuter contract for puppies/kittens - adoption fees vary from $85 for felines and $150-$250 for dogs (varying depending on age, health, behavior, etc.) Adopters must have responsible dog-ownership history and stellar vet reference if applying to adopt a dog and vice versa for cats.
