NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NEW INTAKE 2/19/2025: Julep - female - approx 1 year old - 10.6 pounds - Maltese/Poodle Reason for intake: We were contacted about two poodles (one black / one white) that had been running loose since January around the Drake Apartments in Bossier City. We went to pick them up, but the finder said the little black one ran off after she let them out to potty. The one we did get is heavily matted with crusty eyes. We notified Bossier City Animal Control that we have her so that they could start stray hold. If an owner comes forward, they will be required to reclaim her through animal control and pay the reclamation fee. We did send her to our groomer first thing so she'd feel better. She'll be heading to our vet the week of 2/24/2025, provided no owner comes forward. NOTE: If someone should happen to find a black poodle running around the Drake Apartments, PLEASE contact us! NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption. We will post him or her on Facebook in our Adoptable Dog Album pinned to the top of our page which you can follow at this link: https://www.facebook.com/share/1B46skRWF5/ OR you can keep checking our website at www.roadtorescuela.org. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
Adoption Process
On-line adoption application required. If approved and at adoption we require adoption agreement, spay/neuter contract for puppies/kittens - adoption fees vary from $85 for felines and $150-$250 for dogs (varying depending on age, health, behavior, etc.) Adopters must have responsible dog-ownership history and stellar vet reference if applying to adopt a dog and vice versa for cats.
