We are an all foster/all volunteer organization. If we have an open foster home that can handle the particular animal-we take it in. We vet our animals fully, including specialist consultations, etc. if needed. Our community needs a rescue that can take in animals and put them in loving foster homes.

Meet Gus

Gus was found as a stray running in a pack of dogs in Georgia. He's amazingly friendly and loves people. He must have had some sort of family at one time.. he's learning how to play gently with his foster people. Very smart boy. Has learned sit and paw in a week. Gus is eager to learn. He eats up praise! Very sweet pup will make a great companion for a family (preferably no toddlers) as Gus is still learning not to jump and mouth. But he certainly has come a long way in one week !

Adoption Process
Fees are: Puppies 0 - 6 months $495 Puppies 6 - 12 months $450 Adult dogs $395 Senior dogs 8 years and over $195 Adult cats $150 Kittens $195 or $250 for a pair Senior cats 8 years and over $95 Our adoption application is found and submitted through our website derryhumanesociety.com Once an application is submitted, it will be sent to an adoption counselor who will reach out to you if you may be a good match.
