Adopt A Homeless Animal Rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form. We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

URGENT courtesy post Kaitlynn posted looking for help with placing 5 dogs immediately. Owner passed away and his brother has stage IV cancer so is unable to care for them now. Please tag adopters or rescues that might be able to help as time is critical: "Five dogs need to go home due to original owner passing from dementia and other owner has stage 4 cancer. Unable to care for animals or pay to feed them. Five dogs include two female poodle mixes, two female Great Pyrenees, one black male hound dog. Hound and poodle mixes were used to hunt spring birds and geese. They’re mostly indoor. Accustomed to cats, other dogs and used to chickens too. Located in Hughesville, South MD. Contact Kaitlynn at 240-587-2328 if you can help.   Disclaimer: AAHA provides complimentary listings for members of the community who wish to rehome their pet, as well as for other shelters/ rescues to assist them in finding Furever homes. Courtesy posted pets are not affiliated with AAHA rescue. Unfortunately, there is not enough space or resources to admit every animal to our rescue that needs a furever home. But, we still want to help those in need along their journey! By courtesy posting, we are offering our website/network as an additional outlet to help an owner or rescue gain additional exposure for the animal they are trying to place. AAHA can make no representation about courtesy posted pets including the health or suitability for adoption and accepts no liability in this exchange. Arrangements for adoptions are made between the Caretaker of the pet and the potential Adopter.

Adoption Process
We do require an adoption application, and once this is approved, followed by a home visit and adoption fee $175.
