Name: Coco Best Guess for Breed: Chihuahua and rat terrier mix Best Guess for Age: 4 years as of February 2025 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 9 lbs as of 2/14/25; needs to gain just a bit Gets Along With: Coco is good with dogs and cats! We would be cautious placing her in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare small breed dogs with their level of energy or noise. Children would need to be supervised closely to ensure their interactions with the dog are calm and gentle in nature. We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant. Currently Living at: DC area foster home Coco is Looking For: Her forever home! Through no fault of her own, this small sweetie landed in the shelter. She is eager to once again have her own humans for sniffy walks on her own four paws (some dignity, please; she is not a purse dog) and all the adventures they can dream up. And definitely snuggles and cuddles. In exchange she promises all the adoring gazes she's storing up and loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Adoption Process
1. Complete Adoption Application
2. Phone interview, vet check and home visit.
3. Contract signed (requirements include keeping a pet ID on dog at all times, keeping the dog as a pet, spaying/neutering puppies by 6 monts of age, returning the pet to Lucky Dog in the adopter cannot take care of it at any point in the future, and providing adequate vet care for the rest of the dog's life.
