Meet Red
RED NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Red and other great adoptable dogs this Saturday, August 12 from 12-2 pm at Petco Unleashed in Ballston (3902 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, VA 22203)! Name: Red Best Guess for Breed: Lab mix Best Guess for Age: 2 years as of May 2023 SEX: Male Approximate Weight: 52 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats but he can be tested. Red should not go to a home with children under 15. Currently Living at: DC area boarding facility Red is Looking For: This shiny, handsome boy is out of the puppy yips and into the awesome, sweet, loving - and still energetic - adult dog stage! He’s up for all those great adventures! Sniffy walks around the neighborhood, exploring forests and park paths, maybe visiting a dog park to see if he likes it, experiments to see if he likes ropes for tug or plush squeaky toys better... there's so much he would like to see and do! But - above all - what he truly wants most is his very own family who will give him all the love and attention he deserves! In exchange he promises lots of tail wags, kisses, and loyal companionship for all his days. How does that sound? What Shelter Staff Say About Red: "Red is a cheerful pup. He’s great in play groups and can make friends with just about any dog. He is awesome about other dogs giving him corrections and can handle rough and rowdy or conforms to gentle and dainty. Red is a good match for anyone.”What My Foster Says About Me: Not only is his chestnut coloring beautiful, Red is also a confident, happy boy with lots of energy, love, and personality. He would love an active family of his own to go on walks, hikes, or adventures together and perhaps a resident dog to play with! He is excellent with other dogs, and as noted when he was in the shelter, he conforms to other dogs play styles well—he is also very happy to see the neighborhood dogs on our walks. He is very food motivated so we think he will be a quick learner and is picking up basic commands like sit and lay down quite well in the first 48hrs in his foster home. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
