OBI NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Obi       Best Guess for Breed:  Chihuahua mix Best Guess for Age:  1 year as of December 2024         SEX:  Male   Approximate Weight: 12 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen Obi with cats but he can be tested if you have them. We would be cautious placing Obi in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare small breed dogs with their level of energy or noise.  Children would need to be supervised closely to ensure their interactions with the dog are calm and gentle in nature.  We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant.    Currently Living at:   Puerto Rico shelter; scheduled to arrive in the DC area on 12/14   Special adoption considerations:   Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Obi would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.    Obi is Looking For:  His forever home! This sweet small boy came all the way from Puerto Rico to get his own humans. He's eager to trot through life knowing he's safe and well loved and exactly where he belongs. He's up for sniffy walks, world exploration - and lots of cuddles! In exchange, he has adoring gazes and happy little tail wags and loyal companionship to offer. What do you say? What My Foster Says About Me:   Coming soon!  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Adoption Process
1. Complete Adoption Application 2. Phone interview, vet check and home visit. 3. Contract signed (requirements include keeping a pet ID on dog at all times, keeping the dog as a pet, spaying/neutering puppies by 6 monts of age, returning the pet to Lucky Dog in the adopter cannot take care of it at any point in the future, and providing adequate vet care for the rest of the dog's life.
