LOVEPAWS

We are similar to Baltimore-based RescueWell in trying to keep pets in their homes but we focus our efforts on low-income areas of PG County. We do not pull animals from the shelter but instead work with pet owners to keep pets in their homes through various types of assistance including our county-wide pet food bank and re-homing. We also help promote animals at the Prince George's County Animal Shelter through shelter photo shoots and adoption events.

Meet Opal

Opal-at-a-glance: 10 month old, female, spayed, Pharaoh Hound, 35 lbs., up-to-date on core vaccines, microchipped and heartworm negative. Opal takes monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Meet Opal, the lively 10-month-old Pharaoh Hound in search of her forever home filled with love and adventure! Rescued just in time from the PG Animal Shelter, Opal is a bundle of energy and affection. She adores her human companions and will go above and beyond to be by their side, showcasing her unwavering loyalty. Opal is a quick learner who enjoys long walks, outdoor explorations and engaging in fun training activities. She thrives in a home with a yard, ideally with a tall fence, where she can play and stretch her legs safely. Opal would love to have a doggy sibling or regular playdates to keep her active and social. Opal is a playful and loving puppy who is eager to please. Her perfect day includes morning walks, playtime in the yard and stimulating activities to keep her sharp mind entertained. At bedtime, she finds peace in soothing music or a nature documentary to help her drift off to sleep. Opal would prefer a home without young children as she tends to feed off of their energy very easily. Calm, older kids are a better match for her. If you are ready to provide Opal with the care, patience and love she deserves, she will be your faithful and devoted companion, bringing endless joy and laughter into your home. Could you be the one to give Opal the happy and fulfilling life she truly deserves? Interested in adopting? Of course you are! Submit an application here!

Adoption Process
We work with owners to find fosters and adopters and put them in touch with each other and provide owner to foster contracts, owner to adopter contracts, and other forms necessary to help owners facilitate these processes.
