Worthy Dog Rescue

Worthy Dog Rescue is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping dogs in distress, especially those living on chains, in pens, or in neglectful and abusive situations. Our mission is to provide a better life for these dogs, while working to address the root problems of animal overpopulation and improve animal welfare. We do this through community outreach and by supporting and educating dog owners in underserved communities, by sponsoring spay and neuter programs, and by rescuing and rehabilitating dogs in need.

Meet Molly - ADOPTED!!!

Meet Molly. This pretty Chihuahua was found as a stray with her two puppies in rural North Carolina. Thankfully, a local animal advocate took her in and, after finding homes for the two puppies, reached out to us for help with Molly. We were glad to help this sweet little Chi find her forever home. Molly is currently being fostered in an active home with a mom, dad, two kids, and a sweet Pittie girl named Lorelei. She warmed up to her foster family quickly and has been fostered with both dogs and cats. She likes being part of a pack and is an easygoing, fun-loving pup who loves to cuddle. She was a little skittish in her foster home on the first day, but by day two, she was showing her playful side. Molly is a young, active dog who likes to play during the day, but shuts it down quickly at night when it’s bedtime. Home life may be newer to Molly, but she’s proven to have good house manners. She knows to go potty outside and you just need to give her regular, consistent potty breaks until she’s acclimated to a new routine. She is new to leash walking as well and improving with practice. She may pull or zigzag but is not reactive on leash. Molly’s favorite things include mealtime, playtime, and sitting on her person’s lap, getting attention. This elegant little pup is very soft and sweet and will make a great companion.  She is best suited for an active home and a pup playmate in the home would be ideal.  BREED ESTIMATE: Chihuhua or Chihuhua Mix GENDER: Female APPROXIMATE WEIGHT: ~ 9.5  lbs  APPROXIMATE AGE:  ~ 1.5 years old COAT TYPE:  short ADOPTION FEE: $425 OTHER INFO: utd on shots/spayed/microchipped LOCATION: Alexandria, VA   FOR MORE INFO OR TO ADOPT: Please go to https://adopt.worthydog.org and complete the application. You can also help save dogs like this one by becoming a foster, providing a rescue dog with a temporary home and giving them the love and care they need until they are permanently adopted. Every person who fosters is directly responsible for saving the life of a dog, because we can only save as many dogs as we have foster families available to welcome them into their homes. If you think you might be interested in becoming a foster and want to learn more, please go to https://foster.worthydog.org and fill out an application. Worthy Dog Rescue is an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue that primarily adopts to families in the DC Metro area.
