HERSHEY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!    Come meet Hershey and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (Aug. 18th) from 12-3 pm at the Petsmart in Falls Church (6100A Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA 22044)! Name:  Hershey            Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd/ Terrier mix   Best Guess for Age:  2 months as of August 2024        SEX:   female   Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):  10 pounds as of 07/26/2024   Gets Along With:        Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  Hershey is Looking For:  Hiya! I'm Hershey! Me and my littermate Heath, have loved our time in the puppy pile with our mom Harper, but we are each ready to pack our bags and find our very own forever home! My brother Heath, has already found an awesome forever home and I'd love one too! I'm looking for a home that will let me play with toys and get my puppy zoomies out and give me snuggles in between playtimes. When I'm a little older, I can't wait to explore my new neighborhood on lots of walks, and I'd really like to make a bunch of doggie friends along the way. Oh, and I should probably take a puppy obedience class or two so I can show you how smart I am. What do you say? Do you have room in your heart for me? What My Foster Says About Me: Hershey is a bundle of joy who’s already stolen our hearts. Hershey is a true dream pup with a personality that's as sweet as her name suggests! Hershey is a playful little dynamo with a love for pup toys. She adores following her people around, making sure she’s always by one of our sides. Hershey’s charm and affectionate nature are bound to make her a great companion. Puppy Vetting Requirements:        Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.      Due to this puppy’s young age, she/he has not yet been spayed or neutered.  As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than December 14, 2024. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Lucky Dog to pay for this animal to be spayed/neutered at one of our low cost partner vets.   Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!  TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Adoption Process
1. Complete Adoption Application 2. Phone interview, vet check and home visit. 3. Contract signed (requirements include keeping a pet ID on dog at all times, keeping the dog as a pet, spaying/neutering puppies by 6 monts of age, returning the pet to Lucky Dog in the adopter cannot take care of it at any point in the future, and providing adequate vet care for the rest of the dog's life.
