Husky Education And Rescue Team, Inc.

We are a 501(c) (3) nonprofit - pending animal rescue organization. Our organization saves, rehabilitates, and rehomes Siberian Huskies (and other breeds of dogs) who are abandoned and are in kill shelters. We provide medical and behavioral services and rehome them to compatible families. We do this through volunteer efforts. Most of the dogs in need will come from the Southern States where the shelter kill rate is higher. We have a network of foster homes along the East Coast, while our adoption locations can be found in Maryland and New Jersey.

Meet Bronco

If fuzzy wuzzy was a Husky his name would be Bronco! Bronco, a spirited little fellow around 6 months old, was picked up as a stray by Animal Control. His previous owner discovered his whereabouts but opted to sign him over instead of retrieving him. It appears Bronco fell victim to the trend of adopting Huskies for their looks without understanding their needs. So we welcomed Bronco into our care to ensure his next home understands what they're getting themselves into! Bronco is all things Husky puppy and because of that we will be requiring breed experience for any adopter. (Husky or similar breed). He is the annoying little brother who will need other YOUNG playful dogs in the home who can teach him appropriate boundaries. Emphasis on YOUNG because adopting Bronco to pair with your senior dog is not fair to your senior dog!   Bronco is very high energy and will need a home who understands this requirement and can properly exert him. He has had no structure until now so he'll need an owner who has appropriate expectations and can set appropriate boundaries with him. He is crate trained already and needs a home with a fenced yard for off leash exercise.   Bronco will be ready for adoption the end of February once he heals from neuter surgery. He is current on his vaccines and microchipped. He is being fostered in GA but we will transport along the east coast for an approved applicant.

Adoption Process
A potential adopter must complete our adoption application at www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply and be screened including personal references, vet reference, rescue reference, phone interview and home check. Our adoption fee for an adult dog is $350 and they must execute our Adoption Contract
