Meet FELIPE

Name: Felipe Sex: Male Estimated Age: About 1 year old (as of 12/1) Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd Mix Weight: About 35-40 lbs Good With: Dogs and people. We haven’t seen Felipe interact yet with kids or cats, but happy to test him out. Story: Felipe was rescued from a shelter in Texas. Felipe is a sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. He knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with his humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Felipe is just looking for someone to be his new best furend and we know that he will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. As a young dog, Felipe will need an adopter who is committed to setting him up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising him both mentally and physically. He will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! FELIPE’S PERFECT MATCH: PERFECT FAMILY: A single active adult, a couple, or a family with children that are at least 9 years old (so he doesn’t knock small kiddos down). Felipe loves to play chase, fetch, and tug. Felipe would also do well with a family with another dog in the home, but it’s not a requirement. Felipe is very friendly and is always on the lookout for doggo friends, big or small. PERFECT HOME: One with a backyard for playtime. EXERCISE NEEDS: Currently Felipe is building up his confidence in a busy and loud city, so he is getting most of his exercise by visiting the park. Felipe has made a lot of progress in a short amount of time and looks both ways before crossing any street. Felipe’s an intelligent young man! Felipe is good on the leash but is working with his foster to explore more of the neighborhood streets. Having another dog accompany Felipe on walks, will be helpful in showing Felipe the ropes. BEHAVIOR IN HOME: Felipe is incredibly loving and playful. Felipe shows his love with cuddles and snuggles, and his favorite thing to do first thing in the morning is dance with and hug his foster mom. After walks, Felipe really enjoys offering his toys to his foster mom and play a round of tug and chase. Felipe also loves making friends with other dogs, of all sizes. Felipe is a social butterfly who cannot wait to meet everyone! CRATE: Felipe is crate trained and loves his crate for bedtime at night. He sleeps well through the night. During the day, Felipe alternates between his bed, his crate, or the floor for naps. He’s a very good boy! If you think that Felipe might be your perfect match, apply today!
