Adopt A Homeless Animal Rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form. We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Meet Winky

Courtesy post...Winky needs rescue ASAP because he is stressed in the shelter. He is at the Winchester SPCA in VA Hi there, I'm Winky! I'm reaching out from the shelter with a hopeful heart, seeking a loving foster or forever home. Life's been a bit tough lately, and I've been feeling really stressed here. I've even licked the walls and had a seizure – it's been rough. I used to have a family, but for some reason, they couldn't keep me anymore. I'm 2.5 years old but have been at shelter for about 6 months now I'm told I'm gentle and great with children, so if you have a family, I think we'd get along just fine. I also get along great with female pups. I recently had surgery for my eyes and got neutered too. I'm about 50 lbs, and they call me a "low rider." My previous owners didn't treat me well, but despite everything, I'm still a sweet soul who loves to cuddle and sit in laps. I promise to bring lots of love and companionship to your life. I'm really hoping someone out there can give me a chance at happiness again. Please share my story and help me find a cozy foster or forever home where I can finally relax and be myself. Thank you for reading, and I can't wait to meet you! Contact the SPCA's behavior & training coordinator Caroline at 540-662-8616
