VAQUERO NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Vaquero          Best Guess for Breed:  Terrier and schnauzer mix Best Guess for Age:  11 months as of October 2024       SEX: Male   Approximate Weight:  Coming soon   Gets Along With:   Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested if you have them   Currently Living at:   Texas shelter; will come to the DC area   Special adoption considerations:  Because this pup is arriving into our care before the shelter could alter it, it has not yet been altered. We will alter as soon as possible; however, if Jobya is adopted before we can alter him, the adopter will become responsible for the alter. This must be done by November 26, 2024; there are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date.    Vaquero is Looking For:   His forever home! This utterly adorable little scruff has all that awesome young-dog energy and is eager to get out there and explore the neighborhood - the local parks - the world! - with his humans. Miniatiure schnauzers were bred to be all around farm dogs and ratters, and they have ENERGY - don't think Vaquero will be chill because he's small. Nope. He needs lots of activity, especially at his young age!    Making pup and people pals is also on his wish list, as are quality kibble and a cushy dog bed (your own bed will do, he says). AND he is asking for humans who understand his coat needs daily brushing and regular professional grooming - mats hurt!   Most of all, though, he wants to know he's safe and loved and under his own roof every time the sun goes down. In exchange, he promises adoring gazes, cuddles, and loyalty for all his days.  What do you say? Adoption Process
1. Complete Adoption Application 2. Phone interview, vet check and home visit. 3. Contract signed (requirements include keeping a pet ID on dog at all times, keeping the dog as a pet, spaying/neutering puppies by 6 monts of age, returning the pet to Lucky Dog in the adopter cannot take care of it at any point in the future, and providing adequate vet care for the rest of the dog's life.
