MILDRED NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Mildred Best Guess for Breed: Lab Mix Best Guess for Age: 7 weeks as of 5/28 SEX: Female Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 5 lbs as of 5/28 Gets Along With: Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training. Currently Living at: DC area foster home Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy. Mildred is Looking For: Hello! I'm Mildred. Me and my siblings (Mister, Molly, May, Maggie, Margie, Minnie, and Maxmillian) have loved hanging out in the cutest puppy pile this side of the Mississippi River, but we are ready to stretch our puppy legs and head out to find our very own forever home. Right now, I'm just looking for someone to cuddle with and maybe some toys to play with. Once I'm older, I'd love to go on lots of adventures---walks, hikes, and anywhere else you can bring me along! I'd also like plenty of opportunities to meet other pups and play my little puppy tail off. What do you say? Do you have room in your heart for me? What My Foster Says About Me: What to say about sweet, sweet Mildred! This puppy is so easy going and a joy to be around. She loves to play, run with the pack, snuggle, receive lots of belly rubs or just watch the world go by. We often find Mildred bird watching, dog watching, people watching or happily laying under a chair peacefully in her own world. Mildred is smart, loveable, easygoing, and just a joy. Mildred is learning new commands every day and happy to take in all we have to give her as well as the dogs around her. She is calm, curious, content and very even tempered. While Mildred slows herself down before nap time, typically finding a spot away from others for a little R&R, we do have a simple routine of putting her in her crate, a 10 second Mildred side step hop chase followed by one minute of snuggles and then into the crate she goes happily. Mildred would make a wonderful addition to any home of any kind, she is just a treasure! Mildred’s Daily Schedule to Date (Give or take 15 Minutes – But sleeping 18 hours/day) 6:30 – 7:30 – Wake up, Meal, play. 7:30 – 10:00 – Nap 10:00 – 11:00 – Midday snack, play. 11:00 – 3:30 – Nap 3:30 – 4:30 – Meal, play. 4:30 – 6:30 – Nap 6:30 – 7:30 – Meal, play, night nights! Puppy Vetting Requirements: Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog. Due to this puppy’s young age, she/he has not yet been spayed or neutered. As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than October 5, 2023. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Lucky Dog to pay for this animal to be spayed/neutered at one of our low cost partner vets. Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog! TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog.
