Name:   Xavier          Best Guess for Breed:   Retriever and Shepherd Mix    Best Guess for Age:   1 year and 2 months as of April 2025          SEX:    Male   Approximate Weight:   43 lbs. as of April 2025   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get his freedom ride up here.    Xavier is Looking For:    His forever home! Xavier has emerged from puppyhood but still has all that puppy love for play and cuddles! He’s eager to explore his new world by the side of his new, loving family. Sniffy walks, romps in the park, and all the adventures you can dream up – yes, please! Xavier would love to make pup and people friends along the way! Most of all, this sweet boy wants a home where he will be safe and loved for all his days.  Will you give Xavier the life he dreams about and become his new best buddy? What My Foster Says About Me:    We will update this once he has arrived in the DC area and has spent some time in foster care.   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Adoption Process
1. Complete Adoption Application 2. Phone interview, vet check and home visit. 3. Contract signed (requirements include keeping a pet ID on dog at all times, keeping the dog as a pet, spaying/neutering puppies by 6 monts of age, returning the pet to Lucky Dog in the adopter cannot take care of it at any point in the future, and providing adequate vet care for the rest of the dog's life.
