Rescue Well Incorporated

Our organization primarily helps owners keep pets in safe and healthy homes. We do this by offering support (i.e. training advice, management), supplies (i.e. food, crates, leashes), and we work closely with animal control on cases where owners truly just need help keeping pets. When re-homing is best, we work with owners to provide re-homing assistance which includes marketing and screening of applicants, as well as post-adoption support for adopters.

Meet DEZ (COURTESY POST)

Dez is 6 years old and weighs 75 lbs; he is neutered, is up to date on his vaccines, but is not microchipped.  Dez's guardian says " Dez is basically a big baby!  He's fun and energetic, but also just like a toddler.  The best thing about Dez is he is so simple and easy to please.  He loves to just run around stretching his legs and afterwards will stretch out and just relax for hours right at your feet.  At the same time he loves when you just show him some attention.  A simple rubbing on his back or head is just as satisfying as a treat."  Dez likes car rides, as long as he doesn't eat beforehand, but dislikes/fears the vaccuum cleaner.  He's kept in the garage during the day and sleeps in the shed or garage at night. Dez's guardian states the reason she has decided to rehome him:   "We had two pets, but now have a second baby due in 3 weeks and no longer have the time to take care of the pets and kids. Especially now that my husband is working nights. We have already rehomed the girl." Dez's guardian states the following about past/present medical conditions:   "When he was a puppy he injuried his leg. He healed completely and did physical therapy so he never had a lingering effect.   Dez  will sometimes get seasonal allergies." Dez's guardian states the following about children:  Dez has lived with a 1yo child, so his guardian recommends his living with children, stating Dez is "playful.  He gets very excited around anybody showing him attention." Dez's guardian states the following about dogs:  Dez has lived with another dog, so his guardian recommends his living with dogs, stating "he's been around our second pet for 6 years and they did really well together.  She's been gone a few weeks now and he was really sad in the beginning."   Dez's guardian states the following about cats:  Dez has never lived around cats, but his guardian recommends he lives with cats. Dez's guardian further describes him as:   Very active Playful Friendly Affectionate Indoor dog House-Trained Crate-Trained Dez's guardian describes his future ideal home:   "The ideal home would be a home that genuinely cares for  Dez . He needs a home that will give him attention and time. He's playful so definitely someone to walk him or take him outback or to the park to run around." Rehoming Fee:  None Location:  Hanover, MD
